Subject:a bright idea, a happy ending

Hi---

Last week I had the bright idea to upgrade my B-3 sound for a series
of studio sessions (I'm playing a Yamaha S-80 thru a H&K Rotosphere
through a Mackie 200AM active speaker) because I had played a NEW
Korg CX-3 at a Guitar Center, and loved that leakage sound. So I
found a CX-3 to rent, brought it home sight unseen. Big mistake---it
was at least 10 years old, kind of beat-up, the Leslie sim was
abysmal. I called to complain, and replaced it with a "newer"
Hammond/Suzuki XB-2. Only a little better, but OK, I decided to use
it for the sessions.

Got to the studio--there was a beautiful vintage Hammond M-3 and
Leslie 147. What a sound....and a happy ending, even tho I'm out
$150 for something I didn't use at all.
