Subject:Re: module for Rhodes/Hammond sounds?
Hi,
I tried the Electro I own through Mackie SM450, Fender PA150, Leslie
45(modified with 2 speed motors) and Fender Vibroverb. The Vibroverb wins.
It's only fault is it can't reproduce the Lowest C note with much volume.
It's a 2-10" vibroverb. Not the 1-15".
If I had the bucks I'd try that too! I'm going to stick with the Vibroverb
and get a Pari-EQ and figure out which frequency will boost that low C a bit.
A bandmaster might have the right amount of bass(4-10" w/bigger cabinet)
The Vibro adds MUCH life to the sound of the keyboard. The Mackie has a
lull in the low mids that I don't like. The Fender PA150 just stinks. It's a
solid state dead amp that I'll only use as a quick monitor setup. The Electro
through the Vibroverb stands a hair away from my own B3/Leslie sitting in my
living room. I'm the happiest I've been after having XK-2, XM-1,
V5/Rotosphere and Viscount (dual manual, 8yrs ago). Can't wait for the
updates in May!
I've also owned over 10 Hammond organs in my time and each had a personality
of it's own. I kept the best (to my ears) of the dozen or so I owned as well
as 2 shorty Leslie's (my personal favorites) and added a lot of goodies to it.
Thanks for the bandwidth,
Chris
PS. the Nord sounds great practicing through AKG studio headphones.
