Subject:Re: electro vs Motion-Sound was[CWSG] module for Rhodes/Hammond sounds
At first I didn't like the Electro Leslie effect. It sounded too 'busy' at best, and at worst sounded like a radio soap opera. I've gotten more used to it, and now I like it a lot. To my ears, the VK7 sounds like a Leslie through a PA with the mics close. That is a sound I like for rock. The Electro sounds more like a Leslie in a live room. I haven't used the Electro at a live gig yet, but that will be interesting. IMHO the VK7 Leslie live is better than the CX3's live for a steamin' live rock band. I recently did a sequencer track and playing it back, I switched between the VK and the Electro. In the mix they were pretty much the same except the VK had more 'leakage', but that's the way I programmed the VK. As far as I know, there is no leakage to be programmed into the Electro sound.
