Subject:OT: Yahoo! Spam -- PLEASE READ

[If you joined the list by sending a message like CloneWheel-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, or I directly subscribed you to the list, you may not have a Yahoo profile, so this message might not apply to you.]

I received this information on another list I belong to (AN1x-List). I went and checked my preferences, and sure enough, Yahoo has recently a) expanded the number of items on their "Marketing Preferences" list, and b) in the process, changed all of the settings (except Yahoo Delivers) to 'yes', including permission to give out my mailing address and phone number for marketing use!

I would suggest that all members read this, and then go to your Yahoo account and make the changes suggested below. If you don't know how to access your Yahoo account, you'll need to contact THEM; I do not have access to your account info, nor can I change your preferences for you.

As owner and moderator of the list, I'm really kind of upset about this. Yahoo creates enough advertisements as it is, including pop-ups when you access their website, and graphics in the messages. If anyone knows of an alternate mailing list service, please let me know offline.
