Subject:V5 Expression/Volume Pedal
Hey Clonewheelers,
I am reporting back after my first experiences with my new setup. I did my
first 2 gigs with my Voce V5 and Motion Sound Pro3-t setup. I love the
sound - all of the grit and balls that I have been looking for - I didnt
have to try very hard to make it growl like a evil electro-mechanical beast!
I am using a Kurtzweil Sp76 as a controller and sending the bass from the
pro3t to an old Custom 150w amp - no complaints here.
My only problem happens to be with the expression/volume control - I have
tried the yamaha fc-7 pedal, with the same results as others have
mentioned - it goes from 0 vol to almost full volume as soon as you move the
pedal. any answers on this problem ?? so next I spent $100 on an ernie
ball volume pedal, which does OK, but I just dont have the precision that I
need (the dynamic range is too small). I have played a real B3 and there is
ALOT of volume control with the swell pedal - this is so important to
playing dynamics, because changing drawbar settings greatly affects your
volume. It is important to me to have a pedal accurate enough for me to
ride at all times. I found myself leaving the ernie ball alone while I was
playing because I couldnt move the thing without my volume changing too
much.
my plight here, along with many of you I assume, is: is there a volume
pedal out there that has ALOT of dynamic range and mechanical range of
movement ??? I have to assume that it would be one that wasn't made for a
guitar player.
peace,
