Subject:Re: V5 - espression pedal?

Hey Mark,

That sounds a little like my set up. Roland XP-30 and Kawai K into a Phil
Rees midi merge to V3 to a HK Rotosphere to Ernie Ball Stereo Pedal to Rane
mixer with effects loop nanoverb to whatever amp or recording console. I
find the EB to be not very consistant in it's range. A little in the middle
seems to do alot and a lot on either end of the range seems to do little.
I'd really like to maintain an overall volume and then "express" during
solos and the other times as effects as needed.
So I thot that you might have tried the "expression" input wi th ???? kind
of pedal.

Randall,

Actually in my case I am using the Ernie Ball pedal more as volume pedal
rather than as a true expression pedal, although I had a Hammond M3 and
Leslie 145 and didn't notice a really discernable difference between its
"expression" pedal as opposed to my current "volume" pedal. If anyone knows
of a way to get more of a true "expression" type effect from the Ernie Ball
please let me know. My current rig is Korg M1 controller midied to Roland
XV-3080 synth module midied to a Voce V5 to a H&K Rotosphere to the Ernie
Ball pedal to a Peavey KB-300 amp. The Ernie Ball pedal is last in the
chain. Overall, I am quite happy with this pedal.

Mark

Mark,

I've got a quick question while this expression discussion is hot.

I suppose that the expression pedal would be the same for a V3. And if that
is the case, are we discussing "expression" or an increase in overall
volume. My understanding is that "expression" increases volume and
brightness.

Is that what you are using the Ernie Ball pedal for? On the in or the out
side?
