ACTUALLY I BOUGHT I 2ND HAND FOR A MERE US$ 1000! SO I CAN'T COMPLAIN EITHER WAY THIS THING GOES!!!

I paid the same price. In Germany new CX3 is about 2750 $. Thats a lot
of money. I could get one ("shop model") for 2000$. Thats my income
of 2 month, so i had too sell Vk7.

UC how different taste may be. I liked leakage.

Hmmm. With VK7 I was 90% content. With new CX3 now i am 95%.
I really dont like the switches.

Hammond is sometimes called sinus organ.
So if you push a single drawbar you expect to hear sinus wave !
But in reality it is not really exact sinus wave, for many reasons.
The sound hast some overtones. Hope the right word. Additional
frequencies - harmonics.
On VK7 you can choose 2 different sets of drawbars: Clean and
vintage. Push the 8' drawbar press a low key and listen at the
differenz of clean and vintage. I think they have different harmonics.
On new CX3 you can change this harmonics nearly continuosly with a
slider. Somehow like each Drawbar is provided with a filter.
The effect is only drastic in the first 4 drawbars or so. For
drawbar frequencies over 8Khz it takes naturally no effect. And if
you play nearly full drawbar, it takes no effect too, because the high
drawbars are louder as the overtones.
BTW
Remember principle of mp3. If you take two sinus waves in one octave,
and one of them is +20db (or was it +10db?) louder only this loud
wave can be heard. In Mp3 used for data reduction.

you have 64? different wheel types.

I DON'T DO DANCE MUSIC, I PLAY DINNER JAZZ, USE IT FOR BALLADS, SOME SANTANA TUNES, SOME OCCASIONAL ROCK MUSIC: THAT SORT OF STUFF!

So Vk7 is really the right organ for you. I like dinnermusic more
than dance music. But have to play both, because of the money.
