I replaced the stock tube in my KBRm with a NOS Mullard 7025 tube. It
was not a night and day difference, but the overdrive is crisper with
more highs coming through. I prefer it over the stock sound. I have
heard of folks using various NOS 12AX7 and 7025 tubes. There are a
number of tube numbers that are interchangeable for the most part but I
can't remember what they all are. Ebay is an ok place to look, but NOS
tubes are a boutique item and often go for big bucks (remember, you will
be competing with not only the miniscule closet number of organists
looking for tubes but with all those guitar-toting tube zealots). I have
seen old Mullard and Telefunken 12AX7s sell for like $120 for a matched
pair. I think I got pretty lucky getting mine for $30 off of Ebay. Good
