Subject:OT: What tools do you use to transcribe solos?
Hi,
This is off topic but probably interesting to most people on the list. Up until
now I've been using a tape recorder that has a "return to zero" feature. It can
slow down the speed but also changes pitch when it does so.
I was looking at an older Riffomatic recently that seemed pretty cool. It
captures 15-30 seconds of audio (depending on the quality you want) and then can
play it back at 1/2 and 2/3 speeds without changing pitch. It can also step
through one note at a time. The latest version is here:

I stumbled onto this transcription shareware program through www.google.com

and this led to another site listing various software packages.

Does anyone have any tools they really like?
Thanks,
Joe
