Subject:RE: CX3 leslie

I have a "bank" of utility presets I copied that I liked across the "A" bank
for both "normal" and "extended" mode. I used most of Bruce's Leslie
parameters (thanks BW) across all the presets in these banks. I tended to
leave the EQ, gain as they were. I usually lengthened reverb times, made
them all reverb->rotary (that's how I always played my L100) and for some
patches set the click on/off higher - usually from 70-90 - for the patches I
tend to use more percussively.

I also set all of these utility presets to use pedal 2 for the wheelbrake
function - always fun. Guitar Center is selling Fatar foot switches (the
cheap kind) for $5, can never have enough of those around!

My gear is only used for live playing, so I have the volume controller and
program change global settings "off". I also set the minimum for the
expression pedal to 0. I use my S80 as a controller and often double the CX3
with my piano sound, so I use the expression pedal to control when/how much.

I tend to use the presets as a basic starting point and will switch over to
the drawbar1 for a "wispy" gospel type sound (no percussion, usually first
two and last two drawbars out fully) and then drawbar2 (with percussion) for
a beefier sound, will vary.

I almost always keep C3 enabled - I agree it's almost too much by itself but
in the mix it sounds just right - and use footpedal 1 for fast/slow. I never
use the "stop" setting on the Leslie, again, because I never used it on my
147.
