Subject:XM-1 output

Does anyone know if it's possible to set the right & left outputs to
act as two mono outs? Are the left & right signal close enough to
use them each as a single chanel or would they be missing something?
I could run just 1 output into a Y splitter, but I'd rather not if I
don't need to.
