Subject:Re: Bob Dylan and the Band
Super Session was a great album; although I haven't heard it in about
25 years. I remember hearing East West (the song, by Paul Butterfield
Blues Band featuring Bloomfield) about 10 years ago, just part of it on
the radio late at night, and it sounded pretty good.
I think Al Kooper used to play with the Blue Project, which also
featuring Danny Kalb on guitar - I wouldn't mind hearing that with
today's ears.
I guess this is really digressing, but I find that music from my youth
(I'm 49) that I used to like but haven't heard for years definately
falls in two categories:
yes it is still great
or
boy have my ears (taste) changed over the years
I know I listen more like a musician nowadays, whereas I used listen
more like a non musician - that is, I really hear all the instruments
and their parts now, and it is surpising to hear some old tune from the
60's and realize I never "really" heard it before. You know?
