Jay, Rick, Dan, and Bruce,

Thanks so much for your input. I've printed off all your suggestions. I
actually had no idea that the classic "Lord" sound didn't include a leslie.
....OK, now I'M dating myself. Yeah, I'm 23. However, I love the
progressive rock sound and think the "B3" sound is amazing for screaming,
take-it-to-the-edge solos. It's the keyboardist's equivalent to the
electric guitar.
Tonight, I'm going to work on my Lord riffs. I think 3 shots of
tequilla and a couple of lungs full of PURE oxygen would probably help. :)
I'll let you know how it goes.

You might be thinking of Brian Auger, who was fond of Leslie-less setups.

Rick Wakeman stopped using them after a while, because he felt they covered
up subtle changes in drawbar settings (they often do).
