Don't feel bad. I've been through about every vintage (now) unit there is.
Own 22 modules now (29 if you count the TX816 as 8 modules :-), fx, mix, etc.

STILL have never owned a sampler!

also confess to being pretty impatient when it comes to learning curves on synths
and the like, which is why I play a Hammond and Rhodes at home, and an XK-2 and
Yamaha P-80 out. I don't even use the presets on the Xk-2; just the drawbars. So
I'm a plug 'n play kinda guy. Fortunately the music I play doesn't demand much
more than that! But this is why I was hoping there might be a module out there
with good horns right out of the box. I will check out the Roland modules as you
suggest. I gotta say, the way you describe the CD-ROM samples (like the
"fall-offs") you've got me salivating, but even if I had the money (which would be
an issue) I'm not sure I'd have the patience. I've got to be realistic and live
with my limitations, which admittedly are considerable. I do appreciate you taking
the time to respond as fully as you did. Thanks.
