Subject:MD/DC/VA/PA Clone gathering
Hi all,
There seems to be enough of an interest in a get together to be
worth our while.
*The date will be Saturday, JAN 12 2002.
*The time - well, I'll get there to set up around 8am & it will run
as late as people want to stay. If you stay late & don't want to
drive home, there are several hotels close by in all price ranges.
*The location - Crossroads Church of the Nazarene; 2750 Rogers Ave.,
Ellicott City, MD 21043 Phone - 410-465-1103
I'll email the directions as it approaches, or you can look online.
Just to give you an idea geographically, the building is around 20
minutes from Baltimore, just off of route 70 & route 40.
We'll be using a large fellowship hall at my church, so there will
be plenty of room for gear to be set up easily. Plenty of room to
check out LOTS of toys, so bring anything you'd like. (This includes
Rhodes, Clavs or anything else you feel like dragging along - even a
B-3 if you like)
Lunch will be provided for free (donations will be accepted but not
required or hassled over) & there are plenty of options for dinner
(which can be separately or "organ"ized depending on future
planning based on responses).
Steve Hayes; my tech. from Speakeasy Vintage Music; is coming, so
I've asked him to bring along some preamps & stuff to play with too.
There have been lots of questions & comments lately regarding how
different preamps sound with different rigs so if you're curious it's
a good chance to hear different things. Don't come planning to buy or
sell stuff though. He's just coming as a fellow player & this IS NOT
a place for anyone to be selling their products. Please don't come
with ideas of giving a sales pitch to everyone on anything as I'm
sure we all just want to have some fun playing, listening to &
talking about music.
To give me an idea on what I'll need for food, drinks, etc., please
send me an email if you plan on coming. I don't want to buy food for
20 if only 6 are coming & it would be bad to buy food for 6 if 20
show up.
