The the sound is improved greatly for single note play, such as scale licks,
etc. As I mentioned earlier, the pre-amp really helps enhance the drawbar
voicings. Although the entire register is improved, the second to last
octave remains the weakest area. But it's still far better with the tube
preamp. Also, I had to reset your eq to take full advantage of the preamp,
whereas before, I had set the eq to compensate for really bad flaws in the
tone.
Just a reminder, though, during this gig I did not use my motion sound. The
pre-amp WITH the motion sound is a killer combo.
As far as degrading lower register pitches... I couldn't force the lower
register to sound bad with this pre-amp if I wanted to, so there is no
degradation whatsoever. Only improvement. Oh, and the percussion in the
lower register - WOW!
