My minimum -- with a tube preamp set for "moderate" growl -- is zero (0),
unless the sound is never meant to run clean. Maximum is a YMMV kind of
deal. I use 15-20 for most settings, a little more for certain sounds (Jon
Lord, Goldy MacJohn).
