Pete,

James' reply is pretty much what I would have sent to you had I not read
his email first -- except that he has first-hand knowledge on the VK-7,
while mine would be conjecture. I did modify (swap the connector pins on)
an FC7 for another list member a while back, and he uses it with his Roland
gear (RD-series) with success, so I suspect that the FC7-VK7 marriage would
be a good one.
