Subject:Nit Picking
Like legions of others, I run a few keys and sound modules through my own sub mix and out to a channel in the main mix. Being a fairly practical person, I am generally satisfied with the sound(s).
Yet here and there in a band situation, a piano might have a somewhat harsh attack in a quieter passage or a string patch might sound "right" albeit thin in certain contexts, and so on.
Oh well.
Then, some specific Clonewheel discussions on the Speakeasy pedal for Hammond clone gear triggered a more general thought: how about incorporating something between the line out of my own board and my instrument channel IN on the main board to help ALL sounds?
I believe Bruce may be using an ART MP rack version in this manner (?). I've noticed some pretty inexpensive things out there such as the little ART Tube MP Studio, equally little BBE 264 Sonic Maximizer, and so on. But I have little knowledge of these things.
In any event I'll review previous Clone emails on this subject. Feel free to respond/suggest/caution further, either through the group or directly.
