Subject:Re: Speakeasy clone pre-amp (final review)
To echo what Dan S. already asked, I'm also curious about a stereo
version of the Speakeasy Clone preamp for the application of
inserting it between the outputs of a CX3 and an amp or mixer.
(directed to Steve Hayes) Do you guys have any experience with this
yet? I understand that due to the quality of your work that the cost
would naturally be higher than some of the other preamps previously
mentioned (ART Dual MP, PreSonus BlueTube, TubeWorks Blue Tube II),
but I would be very hesitant to special order something from you
(even with your 30 day guarantee) and then find that for my specific
application it just didn't make enough of a sonic difference to
justify the cost difference. I noticed the Suitcase preamp on your
website goes for $800; would a rackmounted stereo clone preamp be in
the same range? Thanks.
