Subject:Re: Speakeasy pre-amp for Motion Sound :o)
There apparently has been a long-running discussion of this preamp on
this site. I came in rather recently, so I must have missed the early
descriptions of it. Is this strictly something to be used with Motion
Sound gear? Or is it designed to enhance the sound of any clone, for
instance, but putting it between a CX3 and an amp? I'm always
intrigued by the prospect of finding the perfect preamp that adds
analog warmth to the digital clone sound. The speakeasy preamp is
being discussed in glowing terms. On the other hand, it all has an
air of self-promotion. While I have no reason to doubt the promoters,
one sometimes wishes for third-party confirmation before buying.
I have a 3T and Low Pro. I don't have much difficulty getting
sufficient growl out of them, for my taste. In my opinion, where the
Motion Sound combination falls short is the lack of the big low end of
the leslie. I love my Motion Sound gear. But if I was forced to list
its shortcomings, that would be the biggest.
