Subject:Re: Tubes
I hope we're not getting too off-topic here, although a lot of clone
gear does involve tubes to some degree.
Bruce, or anybody else who knows about this stuff, can you tell me
about the testing scales involved in rating a tube? A lot of NOS
that's advertised on the internet will say it tests at '45/42 on a
B&K 700' or '98/98 on a Sencore TC-162' or '80/95 on a TV-7'.
Anybody know what these numbers actually mean? The first two ratings
I listed were for the same model tube, yet one was 45/42 and the
other 98/98. I'm confused. I always buy new tubes and never needed
to know this before, but I'm trying to get even more tube savy.
Thanks.
