I wasn't aware that tubes would lose their sound quality in, say, 8
months. I used to own both a Bassman and Dual Showman top back in the
60's, and their sound didn't change/deteriorate over the years, that I
remember. Of course, that was a while ago.

FWIW, my Pro-3T came with a bad tube, and I bought it new, sealed in a
box. I don't think the tube went bad just sitting in the backroom of
the music store, but, I admit, I'm not tube saavy. I just hope I don't
have to change the tube more than once every 5 years. John, if you
care to comment, what's your opinion on Pro 3T tube longetivity? Does
it really need to be changed often because the sound deteriorates?
