This story is a good reminder for those here who aren't tube savy.
In any musical device where a tube is present it's very important to
keep your tubes "fresh". My guitar player replaces his tubes every
60 days (he also replaces his strings every gig) and it really makes
a difference. Both my R3-147 and Blue Tube II get new tubes at least
every 6 months and I probably should do it even more often as much as
we play. They do wear out and it definitely makes a difference in
the sound. The tube in my R3-147 is right on the front panel and
very easy to replace; I'm surprised it's so difficult on the Pro3T,
except I believe adding a tube was an afterthought to the original
design.
