Bruce,

I don't know whether this information is helpful as I use a different
model but here goes anyway...

I use a FATAR SL-61 as a lower manual which itself tends to sag in
the middle, however, with a plank of wood underneath it in contact
with the bottom of the plastic front edge it works just fine.

Also, the top has lots of switches on it which I don't need access to
and the VK-7 covers them up in any case but doesn't lay flat because
of the switches and the mod wheels. I had some old rubber rubbing
strips from the bottom of a Crumar Roadrunner that I just knew would
come in handy one day - they did. I mounted them on the top of the
SL-61 and the switches are cleared. The SL-61 is not ideal because
the switches are on the top, and the rubber strips increase the
distance between the keyboards slightly but it is very light and very
short so it works well in a lightweight rig. It even runs off the
same power supply as my pedalboard so no extra "wall-wart".
