Subject:RE: Motion Sound micing & my rig

John Fisher turned me on to how they mic their units. You can purchase all
the parts they use for about $20.00 from a mail-order electronic company.
The mic they use is a small button mic. Make sure you place it away from the
power side of the pro3T. Place the mic on a 1/2" thick piece of foam and run
the foam across the back of the cover all the way to the XLR jack. I then
installed an XLR jack into the back of my unit. It worked great!

Since the motion sound runs off of both
the XM-1 & the BC, I'd like to install internal mics with XLR outputs
to run into the sound board. That would mean never again having to
set up mics for a Leslie since it would then be pointless to mic the
770. So, after all of this, here's my question, What are some
affordable options for internal mics for a motion-sound pro3t &
low-pro? I notice on their site they mention Kobitone, but nothing
about where to buy them. Any ideas on other options & places to buy
them? Also, what ideas do you have for placement in the LowPro?
Motion sound shows the placement for the Pro3T here:

If I can set this up with some nice plugs on the back of the
cabinets my life would get much easier. I don't run through the PA
unless we're outside, but fair weather brings more outside gigs.
Thanks for the anticipated flood of ideas & opinions.
In heaven here in MD,
David
