I agree with what others have said about the somewhat shrill high
end of the CX-3. I also set the internally programmable treble to -
10 (I also set the bass to -10). Then I roll off some highs using
the external treble knob, depending on the room (I find a wide
variety of treble responsiveness in different rooms, and even in the
same room on different nights). Often I have the treble knob on
about 4. (Note: I use a Leslie 145, your mileage will definitely
vary depending on amp, preamp, etc., etc.)

I also pull the drawbars not-so-far out as I do on a B-3. I
agree with what Bruce does, pulling the drawbars out slightly less as
the go higher, for example, 888888888 on my '59 C-3 sounds roughly
something like 878765544 on my CX-3. At least that's what I hear.

Also, I think the volumes for the top five drawbars on the CX-3
are just too prominent and don't increase in level very smoothly as
they are pulled. I notice that those bars suddenly get louder around
4 or so. The B-3 drawbars increase in perceived volume pretty evenly
as you pull them out, as I hear it anyway. But with a little
experimentation of this sort you can make the CX-3 sound very very
nice. I'm having a ball with mine.
