I just don't pull the upper drawbars out as much on the CX3... That seems to
do the trick...

Subject: [CWSG] V5, Korg, and thanks to the list
Dear Tim and everyone,
Thanks for the answers. When I posted, I was curious what a V5 and H&K were
worth and was amazed at the response I got. I didn't realize that people
would want to buy things right away. I am going to sell my V5 soon, but
have
been too frantic with my job to even answer everyone's e-mails properly.
As soon as things calm down around here enough for me to get it together
with
selling the V5, I'll do something with it.
I have a serious phobia of wall-wart vulnerability, so the second I bought
the V5, I "velcro-ed" it with its wall wart in a rack and operated it
remotely using sliders on my controller; consequently, the V5 is in like-new
condition. Ditto for the H&K (which I operated using a remote footswitch).
I
used a midi merge box to run the pedals and two manuals with it.
I definitely prefer the percussion and the chorus on the Korg organ to that
on the V5. (I hear there is a percussion mod on the V5, but mine is not
modified.) The 8880000000 plus 3rd is amazingly good on the Korg, IMO. I
love the keyboard feel of the Korg.
On the other hand, some of the potentially shrill organ settings such as
800008888 and 800000008 seem warmer and clearer on the V5. I leaned on
those
kinds of settings a lot with the V5, but (so far) shy away from them on the
Korg. I'm still trying to tweak the Korg to warm up such settings. Anyone
have ideas? So far I'm not using a preamp with the Korg. Does a preamp
make
a big difference? Thanks!
