What I want to know is can
the pro3t can be fitted with reflectors. I was playing a B3 and a 960
on Sunday and tha slower speed on that leslie was mezmerizing me. So I
took the V5 to a studio which had a 960 ran it thru a preamp. Wow it
sounded like that B3 at the church while the horn was spinnig in slow
speed. When I got home I put my rig together and it kind of pissed me
off. Is this due to the deflectors or reflectors that are on the 960?
Can we fit these things on our Pro3t's? Thank you. MikeW.

Hi Mike, The difference in the sound you hear probably has a lot to do with
the deflectors. When I first got my Leslie 145 someone had removed them. It
sounded OK but the horn was cracked anyway so I got a new one with
deflectors. The sound difference was amazing to me. Not quite as loud, but
without them there is very little Frequency Modulation in the sound, just
lots of Amplitude Modulation. This is a well documented difference in sound
and some people like them with and some without, me liking the sound with
deflectors. The smaller horn size on the Pro3T might make it difficult to
add one but I really don't know. I do find it strange that Motion Sound did
not consider what many think is a very important component in the true Leslie
Sound.

Steve

Steve, we did consider the deflectors but 80% of users did not want them, It would be nice to have the option of with/without. FYI the Horn on a PRO-3 T is exactly the same length as a 147 without the diffuser on the end.
