I used to use a Tube preamp between my organ and the Pro-3T (I have since
sold the Pro3-T for a Motion Sound KBR-M).
I do believe 2 tubes are better than 1. Doesn't a 122 or 147 have 4 or 5
tubes?

There were a few nights on stage, when the tubes got really warmed up after
about an hour or so, and a bit of tweaking, I hit a sweet spot of warmth and
growl, which sounded amazing, and that sound made everyone on stage turn
their heads and smile. I'm sure the preamp had a big part in it.

Btw, thanks to all for the responses so far. I've been learning a lot from
this thread. The idea of using the XK-2 to control a V-5, and running that
back into the 1/4" inputs on the XK-2, is especially intriguing.
