A couple people in this thread have mentioned the desirability of using a
tube preamp with a Pro-3T to get more warmth, etc. Excuse my ignorance, but
if the Pro-3T (as distinct from the Pro-3) already has a tube preamp, why
would you need to use a separate tube preamp?

Btw, thanks to all for the responses so far. I've been learning a lot from
this thread. The idea of using the XK-2 to control a V-5, and running that
back into the 1/4" inputs on the XK-2, is especially intriguing.
