Subject:Crud!...A Happy Ending...

I should have been an engineer...

I took my Spin to our head engineer/electronics guru at my workplace
to see if he could help. He got out his divining rod (Fluke
multimeter) and started touching and probing and sure enough, 4
diodes and 1 capacitor later I'm back in business!! Just like
nothing ever happened! All in less than 24 hours!

Apparently a diode shorted out and caused one of the capacitors to
cook (hence the smoke). Why this happened, I have no idea and would
rather not think about it. I'm just hoping it was a defective diode.

Music Tech Services, who does Voce warranty service, gave me a 4-5
week $100-200 estimate.

Man I love it when things work out like this!

But the offer still stands if anyone has one for sale or knows where
I can find another one. Sure would be nice to have a backup.
