Dear list,
Two tiny comments: put the A-70 in a case and lift it before you buy it.
Secondly, ask yourself if the thing is worth having a case made for it before
you buy it. Its size and shape makes it a custom-case object (as far as I
was able to figure, at least).
Tonight someone is coming by to buy my A-70. I can't wait to see it exit my
home. I agree that it is a bargain for the price if you want a nice action
and excellent controller features (even if the Verdi cards are high priced).
However, I learned after buying it that it was too heavy for my taste.
Further, a singer trying to help me with my gear dropped the A-70 on my toe,
corner first, and I had a broken toe for a while. At one point, doctors had
to poke a soldering iron through my toenail about five times to release the
blood which was causing excruciating pain. Ah yes, fond memories of the
Roland A-70!
Something like a Kurzweil SP76 is a featherweight by comparison. Regards!
