Subject:Re: OT: Piano modules
Dear list,
Responding to the thread about clones and piano modules, here are the
confessions of a crank.
Probably like most of us, I've had a long career playing all kinds of
keyboards including piano samplers, but never fully liked any of them. As I
age, I increasingly accept that I will never like them (even if audiences and
bandmates do).
Consequently, for keyboards, now I only play (1) organ or good clone and (2)
grand piano, not miked. I have a small collection of digital pianos and
modules that I don't use any more. I'm slowly selling them off. The various
musicians that call me, each and every one, overcome their initial shock that
I refuse to play digital pianos when they hear what I can do with the organ.
I have seen time and again that people do like organs even if they initially
thought they needed a piano.
Any other cranks out there?
P. S. I'm not yet such a crank that I've renounced clones. At what age does
that set in? :-)
