Yes, the function you describe is possible, but I can't really think of an
application where the splitting of the percussion and the drawbars really
buys anything, in terms of playability or variety of sounds. Can you? I
can see how splitting the upper and lower keyboards might be useful to some
players; I've always liked the sound of Chorale Leslie in the rhythm part,
with a Tremolo solo on top of it.
My original point, however, was that with modeling, what you see is what
you get. The VK-7 can do a few things that the CX-3 can't, and vice versa,
but neither one can be modified to make up for the missing items, without
access to the source code.
