Wow,

This is worse than Hammond organs in terms of " beauty is in the eyes of the
beholder".
I have a K2000, Alesis QS 8, Ensoniq SQ2, Korg N1 and lastly a Roland A-70
with the VE-RD1 piano expander. I like this one the best although it takes
alot of tweaking. The Kurzweil had the PX-1000 (?) expander that came out
years ago that 'live' sounded good. Anything that sounds good in the studio
will sound like rubbish live. The sound system is actually more important
than the device. Mid-range has a way of rearing its ugly head on all piano
sounds when played loud. The K2000 sounds too canned . Actually all K2000
Kurzweil sounds sound like that to me. The Alesis is harsh with not enough
sensitivity. The Ensoniq, believe it or not, sounds good for rock stuff. The
N1 is really electric sounding in the middle range.
The A70 while being a good controller has a good VE-RD1 card. The factory
settings stink, but can be modified fairly well. In my opinion, brightness
will need to be added live and covers a multitude of "lousy piano sounding
sins".

Not much help I am, but I would be interested in others opinions.
