I too would bypass the XB-2 and get an XK-2, if your financial situation permits. Don't get me wrong; I went from a Voce Micro-B to an XB-2 and I was very happy with the improvement....for a few months. But in that endless quest for satisfactory B3 emulation, it doesn't take long to realize that the XB-2 has its problems, sonic and otherwise, and they start to get pretty annoying. And while the XK-2 is hardly perfection itself, it is superior to the XB-2 in many ways. Among other things: Better B3 emulation; better location of controls; more robust keyboard; better editing features (but still a fairly diabolical system for accessing them). So if your money situation allows it, I'd recommend bypassing the XB-2 altogether for the Xk-2. OR a Voce V5. OR a new CX-3. I'd take any of those over the XB-2.
