Both. I used velcro between the front rail of the XK2 and the half-moon,
mainly to prevent any unwanted scratches to the XK2. I drilled 2 tiny
holes on the underside of the XK2 front rail and used small brass screws
to attach the half moon underneath. If I ever sell the XK2, I would be
able to remove the half moon and no one would really be able to see any
thing other than the tiny holes (which could be filled with putty or a
crayon).
