Well, I've had an Ernie for 20-odd years and it's still not
scratchy. Uses a very high quality sealed pot on an open frame
aluminum ped.

Were I, for whatever reason, to need a stereo vol ped and not
have access to one, AND my ernieball ped was failing, then
I'd just go get me another high quality stereo pot ($25 or so)
and rewire the thing (look out Tim Allen! )

Morley has always had the photo-pot claim to fame. Dunno of
anyone else.
