I don't know what bright spark thought to put the word Post up top
left on this newsgroup, but being in a rush and having given you a
fairly comprehensive reply to your post, I inadvertantly pushed the
Post button instead of the Send button and lost my entire reply.
So here I go again.
You can't really compare like for like after an MP3 decoding which is
akin to feeding the audio through a paper shredder, but the MP3 does
given an indication of what the E-mu can do.
It is the fact that the Leslie is not simulated that is the real buzz.
I did use the E-mu's Lslie samples for a while because the bog
standard module is 64note polyphonic and when building up Leslie'd
patches, it is easy to use up the polyphony, particularly when
playing
with both hands.
I have recorded a couple of MP3's on www.myplay,winamp.com which you
can gain access to by using email address Roto.@4u.net with the
password Leslie. These are recorded using the straight patches
through an H & K.Roto.
I now have two modules so I can now utilise the Leslie samples and I
think they are really good. They sound as realistic as a CD recording
and don't need extra processing. If you can live with your CD player
not going through a tube pre-amp, then the same applies. The E-mu can
benefit from top end roll off, but that's good as the treble is there
when you need it but can be tamed for studio/recording use. The
percussion is a separate addition to the presets and percusses on
staccato only as it should, volume and length being adjustable.
The presets can be edited almost any which way, apart from mike
distance as that was set by the engineers when the multi-sampling was
done. Flanges and blah blahs are all there and a nice down and dirty
Mojo preset to edit plus with and without vib/generator noise etc.
I have augmented my set-up with a Hammond XM1 for some extra
chorus/vib and
some on the fly drawbar changes, running the lot in parallel.
It seems to work a treat and with a Korg should be magnificent.
Additonal to the B-3 Rom there are other
EProms available to add to the organ sounds, with really excellent
piano/electric piano voices plus hundreds of others.

P.S. If you do download the MP3's, the playing may not be so good but
no actual damage will be incurred by your computer. No livestock was
hurt during the making of the recordings as line out was used at all
time, monitored on head-phones.
