Subject:Re: SWR workingman's 15
I use a pair of 31c's and they have been nothing but stellar for my
performances. Even though I have run them over the years sometimes without
the benefit of running a line to the PA, a pair should be more than enough
volume for most gigs.
What do you mean by overheating? Barbettas, as most amplifiers, will get
hot, as heat is a byproduct of an amplifier. A shutdown, on the otherhand
is something more serious. I would suggest you have your cabinets looked at
before something serious happens. Being that the Barbetta is biamped, you
should have absolutely no problem in amplifying the low output of your
system. Don't hesitate running a line to your mains regardless of you have
a sound guy or not. When there's no budget for a soundman, I still run the
PA a line and kick a little of my keys through the mix and boost the signal
as is required.
