G'day List,

My name is Rohan Baker, and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I own an Hammond Suzuki XB-1 (and a Kawai K5000W) which is about 2 years old.

I have been playing Hammonds on and off since I was 9 years old (only spinnets, a solid state 7222K and a M-101/147)

As I have mentioned my other board (K5000), I'll also mention that I have generated some very decent Hammond patches for it, with overdrive (variable), tonewheel leakage, drawbar foldback, realistic chorus (variable), keyclick (on some patches only) etc. It was so good that one other K5000 owner that I know and correspond with decided not to purchase the Voce V5 module, while others gig with these patches regularly.

Anybody here on the list also own the XB-1?? I know that this variation was marketed at Asia/Australasia and Europe, so those in the states will most likely have not heard of this model. For those who are curious it looks and sounds like the XK-2, but without waterfall keys, and has the 11 pin digital Leslie connection instead of the old 6(??) pin

I was made aware of this list by Peter Whittaker, who posted a message on the Hamtech list, of which I am also a member.

Anyway, I look forward to being a member, and hope that as with my association with Hamtech, that It is an enjoyable one

Regards

Rohan Baker
