Subject:Re: [Voce] Peavey Spectrum Organ
When the Spectrum Organ first came out, I auditioned it at Daddy's
Music. Granted, I didn't have a chance to play with it for a couple
of weeks, but -- and this is IMHO; you mileage may vary -- it was
positively the worst Hammond clone that I have ever heard! If a
real B-3 is a "10", a V3 is an "8", and an Oberheim
OB-3^2 is a "6", the peavey is at most a "3".
(Bear in mind, too, that I would consider the organ patch in the D-50 a 3
or 4, using the same scale.)
Save your $$$ for something better: a Micro-B II or an OB-3^2 are
in a similar price range, and a whole lot better sounding.
Regards,
-BW
