Subject:Re: [Voce]Leslie Simulators in General/PRO 3-T
I run a Pro-3T through 2 Barbetta 32C amps and it has very good stage volume.
Two amps aren't required though - lots of people use one. I'm in a classic rock
cover band with one fairly loud guitar player. I mic the rig but I would
probably mic a Leslie if I was playing through one also. As with distortion in
guitar amps, its good to get the sound you want and then mic it.
Three tips I've run across:
1. A number of people mic the Pro-3T and run that into the keyboard amp along
with the bass outputs from the Pro3-T
2. Make sure you use both outputs from the Pro3-T. The lesley effect for the
bass requires it.
3. Use a tube pre-amp like an ART MP. I've got one velcroed to my keyboard.
There is something very good about the interaction of two tubes.
4. An EQ is handy to cut the highs, especially with a VOCE V3 or V5. For that
matter, ART makes a Tube EQ that would probably do double duty for you.
Has anyone found a way to permanently mount mics in the Pro3-T? If so, what mics
are you using?
