I had a very similar problem earlier this year with my 122, also driven
by an XK2/1122 kit.
In my case, the 122 was stuck on slow speed and the culprit was the
relay.

If you search the CloneWheel archives, you may find some good
troubleshooting posts because I had requested help when this happened
(approximately May 2001).

I had toyed with the idea of replacing my electromechanical relay with a
SS relay, but it was simpler and less expensive to swap mine for an exact
replacement. There are a number of folks on this list that can help with
obtaining a replacement relay, but you will need to determine what type
of relay you have in your 122 amp. I achieved results by scanning a
photo of the underside of my 122 amp and posting this. Tony LeBrasca of
BT Productions saved me with a new relay and had me back in business in a
couple of days.

I agree, there is nothing more disheartening than a Leslie that will not
change speeds. Mine broke at a big gig opening for a national act and it
really sucked! Made me rethink the backup plan carefully. The XK2's
internal Leslie is unfortunately not a good substitute for the real
thing. One good reason to consider upgrading to the new CX3. Nowadays,
my 122 stays at home for most gigs and I use Motion Sound equipment.
