This is just my experience, and I may not have tried everything (though I did

The A70 is a board I used for a time with a V5. I liked it because it had
many midi sliders, which I programmed to function as drawbars. They worked
well for manual 1. However, I never was able to get the manual 2 sounds to
change correctly (e.g., bizarre noises and midi errors) when using the A70
drawbars. Also, patch-change commands to manual 2 on the V5 did not work
correctly with the A70 as the controller. Several memory positions were
inaccessible, and other weird things would happen when pressing patch change
buttons for manual 2.

I am not expert enough to explain why these errors occurred. All I can say
is that I gave up on using the A70 sliders and patch-change commands to
control the V5's manual 2. Also, I had to use my own midi merge box because
I couldn't get the A70 to merge pedal and manual inputs correctly.
