Keyboardists often do get the shaft when it comes to respect (in that way,
they're similar to drummers, believe it or not). We've all heard the joke -
what do you call someone who travels around with a bunch of musicians?.... a
drummer!

But the flip side of the coin is that a good keyboardist is one of the
hardest musicians to find. There are lots of guitarists, drummers and
bassists... so that gives key-players some leverage.
