Aaah. yes.. diags. Ok I'll try this. Was gonna use my sequencer but
this will be much easier. Thanks.
Messed with it last nite for a while. Tried every midi combo possible.
Still the same.
In the "other" mode (still not sure which is which), when hooked with
the aux loop to the V3, same thing happens as when hooked to the DMI.
It's like a midi buffer load/dump. The volume (f'rinstnce) does
nothing for about half a turn then the unit goes silent then the volume
changes to the [now] radical setting. Same for the other knobs.
When connected to the DMI, the vib/chor and leslie settings work fine,
but the draws never ever did (as drawbars anyway). When connected to
the V3, the vib/chor and leslie settings no longer work, nor does
the "drawbars" button light up in any mode.
The neat thing is, if I can get this working, the old unit is amber
lights and the new unit is green which will make it easily
distinguishable :-)
Bought the DMI from Caruso's years ago (mmm ... about 92?) when they
first came out ($895 or so). About 3 years later I bought the Draws
(supposedly new) as sort of a close out cuz they weren't gonna order
more or something. Not a great price, mind you, but I got 'em. That's
when all the "new" vs. "old" stuff began was with them. But I'm
still optimistic.
I'll report back tomorrow or Fri.
