My old 860 would do that at every gig... the screw threads were shot
and I tried countless ways to get it to stay in place, each working
for 5 hours and failing as I was loading the thing back in the car
(always heard the telltale knocking sound of the motor swinging
against the cabinet edge)

I've been so out of Hammondom lately... I guess it's been three or
four years since I've been an active member of any Hammond-related
group? Nice to see some names from the past in here, and read up on
what I've been missing!

I had never heard of the Nord Electro until just now, and I am all
giddy thinking about it ('course, I'm also drooling over the Roland
XV series and SRX cards... drummers? Who needs drummers?). I could
probably sell the XB, KBR-M, and Wurlie and have a good deal of the
Electro's price taken care of. Sentimentality is nice, but open space
is a rare commodity (well, I guess everything's a rare commodity when
you're fresh outta college) and since I don't have the funky Volvo
turbowagon anymore... gig transportation is either a Nissan hatchback
or a Honda CB750 and lots of bungee.
