Hi, (don't know your first name)
The 60's and 70's card has Rhodes, Wurly, clav, mellotron, lots of organs,
fafisa, vox, pianet - no synths really. Roland has a Vintage Synth card
which covers that - it's a pretty good card, although if you were looking for
real tie analog control, it would depend on the flexibilty of the XP-30. I'm
not too familiar with it.

Does your XP-30 have performance patches you can set up? Most controllers
have this now - you have patches and performances (sometimes called setups).
This is where you can set up individual midi for patch, and do splits/layers/
separate midi channels for different parts of the keyboard. If your keyboard
has this, and you take an afternoon to set it up, you won't have to worry
about that problem again.

I own a V5, not a V3, but my guess is that the V3 window is showing the upper
manual patch and the lower one is being accessed via midi. So a lower manual
change won't up on the screen. Am I wrong??

Also ck to see if your keyboard has the program change RX and TX switched to
On (if so turn it off), also if the V3 has program change settings turn it
off. That's what makes the V3 change patches when you switch patches on the
XP-30. If the XP-30 has performance setups, that's the best way to go.
It'll open up a lot of flexibility in what you can do. You can setup custom
patches and settings and midi info for songs. If so, let me know, I can help
walk you through it. Can't be too much different than my XP-80.
